Alfred, hard cover

  • Alfred wants to dance. The birds and the butterflies, the moon and the stars, even lightning bugs and falling leaves dance.

But when Alfred goes to Miss Melissa’s Dance Studio, he finds he’s too big and he doesn’t know the dance steps. And the other students let him know he certainly doesn’t have the right clothes.

    Will Alfred give up?

Or will he finally learn to dance?

Alfred wants to dance, but he’s a moose. He’s also determined and imaginative. I mean, one look at that gorgeous homemade ballet outfit, and you know Alfred’s a creative genius. Still – Alfred wants to learn to twirl, sashay, and cha-cha-cha. With a lot of persistence and some out-of-the box thinking, Alfred eventually achieves his dream.

This sweet story will especially hit the spot for any child who feels different, left out, or not enough. It is a story of bravery, tenacity, ingenuity, and acceptance. Stephanie Theban’s clever descriptions and wordplay, alongside David Barrow’s charming, softly colored illustrations, make this book the perfect read-aloud for bedtime or anytime.
