Alfred, soft cover
Moose watches the birds and insects flit and flutter like ballerinas. He sees the stars and moon dance across the sky. Moose wants to dance, too.
But at Miss Melissa’s Dance Studio, the other animals tell him he can’t dance, and he certainly doesn’t have the proper costume. Moose is discouraged.
He practices more and tries one more time to convince Miss Melissa to let him join the dance class.
Miss Melissa finally realizes Moose is a good dancer, just with his own unique style.

Alfred wants to dance, but he’s a moose. He’s also determined and imaginative. I mean, one look at that gorgeous homemade ballet outfit, and you know Alfred’s a creative genius. Still – Alfred wants to learn to twirl, sashay, and cha-cha-cha. With a lot of persistence and some out-of-the box thinking, Alfred eventually achieves his dream.
This sweet story will especially hit the spot for any child who feels different, left out, or not enough. It is a story of bravery, tenacity, ingenuity, and acceptance. Stephanie Theban’s clever descriptions and wordplay, alongside David Barrow’s charming, softly colored illustrations, make this book the perfect read-aloud for bedtime or anytime.Lisa R. Riggs
